A campsite with net congestion problems
One specific project where Intercel’s energy storage systems played a critical role was a campground with grid congestion problems. “The campground would like to get more power from the grid than allowed. Especially in winter, when the output of the solar panels is less, campers use their heating. When they then also all fry a nice egg this leads to overloading the grid.”
Solution: peak shaving and solar energy storage
The solution was to deploy an energy storage system. ” In the spring and fall, they use the energy storage system for peak shaving, and the rest of the year for solar energy storage,” Arjo explains.
