Emergency backup power batteries
Uninterrupted emergency backup power
The main function of an emergency power supply, or Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), is to provide immediate, uninterrupted power as soon as normal power fails. This is essential for industries such as IT, Telecom or hospitals, where the uninterrupted operation of equipment is critical. With reliable battery systems, Intercel ensures that emergency power supplies do their indispensable job.
Difference between UPS and emergency generator
A UPS is not the same as an emergency power generator (NSA). In fact, a UPS emergency power supply provides uninterrupted power availability. In the event of a power failure or test, the UPS takes over power automatically, without interruption. An emergency power generator is not continuously on and thus must be started up. As a result, there is a brief power interruption before the generator supplies power. Often, a UPS and NSA are used together. First, the UPS provides emergency power directly while the NSA starts up and a switch is made from UPS to NSA according.
Reliable battery systems
For the right battery systems, the first thing we look at is the power requirements. This is the total power of all connected equipment in watts. Second, we look at how long this power needs to be delivered. This time is called the autonomy time. Based on this data, we can provide a customized battery system. We supply long life, high rate and front access battery systems for UPS emergency power supplies, among others.
